Scarlet Kings is uniquely identifiable yet defies classification, painting a full canvas of sound from a rich sonic palate of country, rock, pop and bluegrass. Intelligent songwriting and tasteful musicianship present songs with a tight pop sensibility that are immediate, unique and universal. Scarlet Kings has an undeniable chemistry that makes their performances slick and polished with the depth and soul of a group that has played together for years.
Brothers Josh (guitar) and Dan (drums) Edmondson, sons of producer/musician Carl Edmondson (Lonnie Mack), met singer Aaron Patrick on the campus of Miami University in Oxford, OH. Later joined by bassist Patrick Martin, the group began playing clubs and colleges around the Midwest. In early 2007 the group was completed with the addition of Mark Evitts on fiddle and guitar.
In August of 2007 the quintet began recording their CD. With an extensive songwriting catalogue to draw from, as well as Co-writes with Danny Kortchmar (James Taylor, Don Henley) and Sam Hollander (Gym Class Heroes, Boys Like Girls), the band carefully selected material for the record. It was then meticulously assembled under the vision of producer Josh Edmondson into the self-titled release, Scarlet Kings.
Scarlet Kings is quickly becoming one of the music industries most promising crossover artists. |
